Celebrated annually since 1994, ecoBenefête is our premiere special event through which we honor our Distinguished Conservationist of the Year. The Distinguished Conservationist Award celebrates an individual or institution that has gone above and beyond their peers in advancing conservation or sustainability in Georgia.
Past Distinguished Conservationists include: Georgia Tech College of Architecture, The City of Columbus,Will Harris III, Ben Slade III, The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, E. Cody Laird Jr., Jim Kennedy, Emory University, Ray Weeks, Atlantic Station, Clay Long, Charles Brewer, Laura & Rutherford Seydel, Garden Club of Georgia, James Mackay, Congressman John Lewis, Atlanta Journal-Constitution Horizon section, Governor Zell Miller, Senator Sam Nunn, Ray Anderson, Chuck Leavell, Ted Turner, and Eugene Odum.
Ticket Price: $250; $200 for Georgia Conservancy Cambium members
Dress: Cocktail attire for ladies, coat and tie for gentlemen
Time: Friday evening
Attendance: 300+, wide-age range, primarily a more mature crowd that features Cambium members and leaders in business and conservation

Next South Conference (February)
Started in 2014, the Next South Conference and Career Fair is now annually hosted by the Georgia Conservancy’s Generation Green. Next South, the largest conference in the Southeast dedicated to inspiring and empowering future leaders seeking careers in sustainability and corporate responsibility. Next South has welcomed keynote speakers from corporations such as Ernst & Young, UPS and Coca-Cola and has included panel discussions that focused on sustainability in the energy sector, social entrepreneurship, and corporate trends in sustainability. A day-long job fair provides participants with the opportunity to network with a number of organizations looking to expand their sustainability presence.

Attendance: 300+, primarily college upperclassmen and young professionals
Other: Keynote speakers, panel discussions and job fair
Green Eggs & Ham (Quarterly)
It is never too early to talk about Georgia’s most pressing conservation and sustainability issues, and Generation Green’s morning panel discussion, Green Eggs & Ham, is proof. The successful seasonal series, which traditionally kicks-off at 7 AM, brings together experts on a variety of topics important to the future of our state and metro Atlanta. Recent topics have included historic preservation in Atlanta and its role in sustainable growth, urban agriculture and statewide conservation funding. Green Eggs and Ham is lively, fun and informative and a great way to spark dialogue and discussion amongst the panelists and audience members.

Oyster Roast (March)
Our annual Oyster Roast is a family-friendly event celebrating the natural riches of Coastal Georgia. Held in Savannah, the Oyster Roast features local oysters and clams, as well as live music.
Ticket Price: $25 - $35, kids under 13 free
Dress: Casual outdoor attire
Time: Saturday afternoon
Attendance: 300+, all ages and demographics
Other: Local oysters, live music, beverages, SweetWater beer and activities

Tight Lines (May)
Tight Lines showcases the art and enjoyment of fly fishing and features casting lessons, product demonstrations, distance and accuracy competitions, and wonderful local food.
Ticket Price: $100 or $80 per couple

Time: Sunday afternoon
Attendance: 200 - 250, all ages and demographics, but leaning toward a more mature audience
Other: Live music, local foods, beverages and silent auction

Verde is our annual summer soiree hosted by the Georgia Conservancy's young professionals board, Generation Green. Verde celebrates and honors an emerging metro Atlanta environmental leader with the Longleaf Award.

Firelight is a celebration of the Georgia Conservancy Stewardship Trips Program. The evening brings together Conservancy members, trip participants and those interested in exploring our state's beautiful natural places.

THE GRAND (August)
First hosted in 2014, The Grand Columbus Whitewater Paddle is a Saturday-long whitewater rafting adventure and after-party that highlights the restoration of the Chattahoochee River and the sustainable redevelopement of the city's waterfront.
Ticket Price: $20 - $45, depending on rafting slot
Dress: Outdoor adventure attire
Time: Saturday morning - Saturday early evening
Attendance: 1,500, all ages and demographics
