Tight Lines 2013

The Georgia Conservancy and its Board of Trustees held the inaugural Tight Lines event on May 5th at The Pond on Riverly Place in Atlanta.  Tight Lines is a celebration of fly fishing in Georgia and the work that the Conservancy does to protect the state's natural resources.

Tight Lines featured some of Atlanta's finest fly fishing enthusiasts on an afternoon filled with great fly fishing trip information, new gear exhibits, bluegrass music, fresh catfish and live casting demonstrations by Dave Chounaird, Frank Smethurst and Raz Reid.

Silent auction packages included fly fishing trips to Chile, Wyoming and the Bahamas, as well as fly fishing gear, fly fishing classes and dozens of other items.

“Without the support of our dedicated sponsors, Tight Lines would have never happened," said Lacey Lewis, Board Chair of the Georgia Conservancy.  "They were willing to lend their names and financial support to the worthy cause of conserving Georgia’s land and water - not only for fly fishers,  but for all Georgians to enjoy – and we cannot thank them enough."

The Tight Lines host committee included Jonathan Burt; Greg W. Blount; Ed and Elly Dobbs; Greg and Kimberly Euston; Bailey Izard; John Izard; J. Lacey Lewis; Leslie Mattingly; George and Katie Mori; Lane Moor; Ira Pearl; Robery Ramsay; William Underwood; and William Wingate.
