The Georgia Conservancy knows that our members are passionate about the environment. We also know that there is no better person to talk about that passion than you. That's why we are asking all of our members and others who follow us to tell us about why they're involved with the Georgia Conservancy.

Why do you care for the environment? Why are you a Georgia Conservancy member? What was your favorite Georgia Conservancy trip? What environmental issues are you most passionate about? Favorite place to visit in Georgia? What do you think makes the Georgia Conservancy different than other environmental organizations? No rules here--write as much or as little as you like, answer all the questions or only answer one. We're looking forward to hearing what you have to say!

Some quotes from testimonials we've collected so far:

"Without organizations like the Georgia Conservancy, I think a lot of us would be blind-sided by some of the issues concerning our environment and how those things could impact our day-to-day lives. A lot of times, we don't know until it's too late. And if we don't have organizations like the Georgia Conservancy at the table for us, we're going to be in trouble."
-Evonne Blythers, environmental teacher at the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance in Southwest Atlanta,  located at the Outdoor Activity Center.

"In my eyes, the Georgia Conservancy stands out because not only are you going on hikes and outings, you have educational pieces and you're learning about advovacy work within those education pieces, from Cumberland Island all the way up to Cloudland Canyon State Park. I've been spelunking, I've learned about animals, I've learned about our waterways and the water wars. At the end of the day, you have a group of people that's welcoming--a diverse group of people from different backgrounds from all over Georgia. That's why I love and will continue to be a member of the Georgia Conservancy."
-James Edward King, Jr., student at Morehouse College

"I first got interested in environmental issues just growing up, playing outside. I loved being outdoors and spent most of my younger childhood years outside, going on camping trips and things with my family and friends. I recognized growing up that we weren't doing as good a job as a society of protecting those places, and I wanted to help out with that. I wanted to do anything I could to make sure those places were available for future kids and also to introduce other friends and family I have to them. I became a Georgia Conservancy member ultimately because it was a way for me to take action. I was behind what they were doing, I was behind the way they were opening up some of these recreational places and really focusing on that stewardship of these public lands and I wanted to be a stronger part of that and show my commitment."
-Jason Lane, Outdoor Programs and Outreach Administrator at REI Atlanta
