Service Trip to northwest Atlanta
Join us at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18 to help clean up Center Hill Park in northwest Atlanta. We'll pick up litter, weed, rake and mulch. Park Pride is providing equipment and expertise. The two-hour service project is being held in conjunction with the Georgia Conservancy's Growth Management program, which is preparing to launch a planning study of Neighborhood Planning Unit G, a collection of northwest Atlanta communities that includes Center Hill Park. Korri Ellis receives Generation Green's Longleaf Award at Verde
Verde, Generation Green's eco-chic summer soirée, played host to the Longleaf Award ceremony recognizing Korri Ellis as the 2010 Emerging Environmental Leader of the Year. Korri, an educator at Grady High School and 2008-09 Atlanta Public School Teacher of the Year, specializes in environmental education and organic gardening with her students.
Over 150 Generation Green members attended and enjoyed the fabulous new Greystone event facility at Piedmont Park, Organic Bonterra Wine, SweetWater Beer, and Affairs to Remember catering.
