As a charitable nonprofit organization, Georgia Conservancy relies on the generous support of our members to help sustain our work to protect Georgia’s natural resources.
While we do receive contributions from corporations and foundations, it is the individual member who provides the majority of the funding for our work. Our annual budget is approaching $2 million – the majority of which comes from private support from individuals like you. As Georgia Conservancy continues to grow in size and scope, so must our membership base.
- It means support for clean air and water, land conservation, coastal protection, growth management and environmental education for the state of Georgia.
- It means lending strength and credibility to influence economic and social growth decisions.
- It means being part of collective voice that can have profound impact.
- It means becoming part of an important legacy
In many ways, membership in the Georgia Conservancy is the most effective action you can take to protect Georgia’s environment
It was on a nine-degree morning in 1967 that a group of visionaries took their first "Fourth Saturday" hike and decided they should form an organization devoted to the stewardship of our state’s natural resources. This marked the formation of the Georgia Conservancy.
Now, more than 40 years later, it is people like you who help carry on that legacy of stewardship and protection of Georgia ’s natural environment.
For those of you who are already members, thank you. We appreciate your continued involvement. For those of you who aren’t members, we need you! The longevity of Georgia’s environment depends on it.
