Founded in 1967, the Georgia Conservancy collaborates, advocates and educates to protect Georgia's natural environment. Through our focus on clean air and water, land conservation, coastal protection, growth management and education, the Georgia Conservancy works to develop solutions to protect Georgia's environment and promote the stewardship of the vital natural resources. The Georgia Conservancy would love to hear your feedback on the value of your membership through the 2008 membership survey. This holiday season, consider memberships to the Georgia Conservancy as gifts for your clients and friends. Your gift will help fund advocacy and education efforts that address some of the most important environmental issues facing our state. For more information about giving memberships this year, please contact Bryan Schroeder, membership coordinator, at bschroeder@gaconservancy.org or 404-876-2900, ext. 110. Jim Stokes, president of the Georgia Conservancy, will step down at the end of the year, he announced on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008. "The Georgia Conservancy is poised to take on new challenges as I yield the leadership to the next steward of this great organization, which enjoys such a strong legacy and promising future," said Stokes. "I am grateful for the opportunity to have served with such a dedicated staff and board of trustees, and I look forward to continuing to support the Georgia Conservancy in what are sure to be successful years to come."
