Changes At the Georgia Conservancy

Jessica-Bryan VerdeThe Georgia Conservancy’s Membership and Trips programs have grown significantly in the past year, and our team has reorganized to better serve our members, trip participants and volunteers in these areas. We are excited to announce some changes in staff responsibilities.

Jessica Gaylord, who joined the Conservancy in March of 2011 as a development assistant, has been promoted to membership director. She now guides the recruitment of and services for our most valuable resource – our members! Gaylord is also the driving force behind our Spring Membership Drive, which incentivizes current members to help the Conservancy meet new members by engaging in activities like our trips and volunteer programs.

Bryan Schroeder, who served as membership director for three years, will now focus full-time on expanding our popular Trips program and building our new Volunteer and Stewardship initiative. As stewardship and outreach director, Schroeder will grow our outreach efforts by doubling the number of trips offered annually and launching Georgia Outdoor Stewards, a MeetUp.com website sponsored by REI that helps organize volunteer opportunities and stewardship trips throughout the state.

“I am excited that Jessica and Bryan have the opportunity to help the Conservancy grow these two very important programs, said Robert Ramsay, vice president of development with the Georgia Conservancy. “By working together in guiding our outreach efforts, I am confident that they will be successful.”
