The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) released a draft statewide water conservation plan in November, 2003. Comments on this draft plan are being accepted through January 31, 2004. Comments submitted by the Georgia Conservancy are available here. We encourage you to support DNR's efforts and submit comments that encourage a conservation plan to

1. be a statewide guideline for local/regional conservation plans
2. use conservation and efficiency to keep water in the streams
3. require goal-oriented conservation plans
